On Saturday 30th June, 11.00am – 3.30pm the Warriner School will be holding an art event called ‘Made In Oxfordshire’. The aim of this event is to showcase the talent of local artists, craftsmen and women and also the work of the next generation of artists – our local students. In addition to this our student council are coordinating a ‘Ruby Bonanza’ as part of the celebration of 40 year of The Warriner School. Throughout the day there will be: Live music, drama, dance, poetry, sports, arts and crafts workshop, stalls, ‘Wild in Art’ rhino trail, BBQ selling the Warriner Farm’s produce, tea and cakes and much more.
Not only are we hoping the local community will come and support us on the day we are looking for local Artists, Designers and Crafts men and women to exhibit at the event. We are proposing that ‘Made in Oxfordshire’ will be an annual event to help promote the arts in Oxfordshire and raise greatly needed funding to help support the Arts in The Warriner School. We have many talented artists at the School. For the last two years we have entered the Saatchi School competition and each year we have made it through to the finals. Indeed this year of the 20 student’s work that was exhibited at the gallery, from all that submitted in the UK, we had two students work through to the final and included.
What’s it going to cost to Exhibit?
We have kept this as low as we can to try and help us all in these difficult times.
Gallery Wall Space 1m x 2m approx = £10 with 25% commission taken
We will manage all sales and replace all worked sold during the event ensuring maximum sales. You will notice on the booking form that we ask for a reserve stock to replace all sold pieces.
Market Stall for Crafts £10 per table or £15 for two tables. For Crafts only. All art pieces must be in the Gallery.
For those who want both a stall and wall space we offer discounted rates. We also offer students rates. Please contact us for further information. All forms that need to be completed to ensure a place at this exciting event can be downloaded from our website.
https://sites.google.com/site/madeinoxfordshire/
Or email madeinoxfordshire@gmail.com
During the event there will be workshops. If you feel this is something that you would like to offer please let us know. These could be charged for or free.
The Gallery will open at 12am on Friday 29th for hanging. Work needs to be in place By 5pm on Friday 29th June. We will be happy to hang your work for you or you are welcome to do this yourself. We will be holding a private view from 6.30pm – 8pm and welcome all our exhibiting artists to attend.
We would be absolutely delighted if you would be able to support this event along with other local artists
If you have any further questions please contact us.
Many thanks, Angela and the ‘Made in Oxfordshire’ team.

Since April, Oxfordshire County Council has operated the Dial-a-Ride bus scheme throughout the county. In the Cherwell district this replaces the service previously run by the Banbury Community Transport Association (BCTA). The new service is abailable to residents who have mobility or visual impairment, or who have severe learning difficulties (but are able to travel with a carer), or who have age-related frailty. Journeys may be for shopping, visiting friends, or to attend personal appointments, but excluding NHS outpatient visits as a separate service is abailable for this. The scheme is NOT available for residents with private transport. It is necessary to register by completing a form and paying an annual fee of £5.00. Residents who used the BCTA service should have received the paperwork in March, but any potential new members can obtain the form by phoning 0845 310 1111.
Journeys are free to those who have a concessionary bus pass. The pass number must be entered on the application form. Unlike the BCTA scheme the availability of buses is restricted to certain days of the week. For Bloxham residents the service is now available on Mondays and Thursdays between 9.00 am and 5.00 am and may be available on other days, subject to demand. Bookings can be made no more than 7 days in advance by telephoning 0845 310 111.

Banbury Rural Neighbourhood Monthly Update – May 2012
Team News – PC 6861 Jolene HURST has been appointed as the new Rural Neighbourhood Officer for the Banbury Rural Neighbourhood Team. She will be replacing PC Duncan VALE from the 4th of June when he moves over to join the Town Centre, Grimsbury, Cherwell Heights and Easington neighbourhood team
Auto Crime – During proactive patrols in Bloxham and Adderbury, a vehicle was found acting suspiciously and was stopped and the driver spoken to by Police Community Support Officers. It was identified that this vehicle wasn’t involved in any criminal offences but the driver did not have the entitlement to drive the vehicle under his insurance policy. The vehicle was then seized under section 165 of the road traffic act and removed from the road.
No offences of theft from motor vehicles were reported to the police during the month of April for the Banbury Rural Villages.
Rural Thefts – Banbury Neighbourhood Team has now produced advice to all officers covering the Cherwell Policing on how to deal with scrap metal collectors operating without waster carrier’s permits and scrap metal dealers certificates from their local councils. We have conducted several operations this month to tackle those individuals collecting scrap metal in our rural communities and 4 people have been reported or charged for these offences over the month of April
Rural Thefts are now a Thames Valley Force Priority and we would ask all members of the community to contact the police with any suspicious vehicles/people driving slowly through the villages looking for or collecting scrap metal immediately. If the vehicle registration number, description of the vehicle and persons can be obtained and passed to Thames Valley Police by calling 101, officers will be dispatched to stop the vehicle and deal with any offences identified.

Crime News – On the 18th April, Bloxham C of E school reported approximately 25 linear metres of lead had been stolen from their roof. This was during the heavy rain and no exact the time of the offence is known. No forensic evidence has been left at the scene of the offence and CCTV enquiries have proved negative.
A quantity of scrap metal in bags was stolen from the front of a property in Clay Bank, Hook Norton between the 28th and 29th of April 2012. Offenders at this time are not known and house to house enquiries have proved negative so far.
Road works are currently being undertaken on Bloxham High Street and on two separate occasions this month, trailer dolly wheels have been stolen from the generator trailers at the site. This is a fairly busy road during most of the day and I would ask anyone who may have witnessed any of these offences to contact the police with any information
Have Your Say Online- Should you have any problems or concerns please phone the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number on 101 or email
BanburyRuralNHPT@thamesvalley.pnn.police.uk .In an emergency please dial 999.
Please allow some time for us to get back to you as we check our mail box at certain times of the day.
Have you signed up to Thames Valley Alerts?

The Friends of Bloxham Primary School are proud to announce that we will be hosting a good, old-fashioned Village Fete for the whole community to enjoy on Saturday 16th June 2012 on the primary school field.

The fete will open at 1pm with a jubilee hat procession led by Sydney’s Exploditions and the Warriner School have kindly agreed to support us by offering the services of their talented musicians. Preparations are well underway to bring the whole community together to celebrate with the primary school children. Refreshments will be on offer throughout the afternoon with a BBQ, licensed bar and cream teas and there will be performances from Bodicote Morris, the children of the primary school and St Mary’s Church Choir. We are working with the fabulous WI to host a ‘Great Bloxham Bake-Off’ competition; you can pick up entry forms from Sue Myburgh at the Friday country market held in the ex-serviceman’s village hall or speak to Clare Ward on 01295 720444. There will also be some lovely craft stalls, face painting, lucky dip, tombola and traditional village games. The highly contested cricket rover final will start at around 4.30.
Please come and join us for a glass of Pimm’s and support us in our quest to build an outdoor classroom for the children – all of the funds that we raise on the day will help us to achieve this year’s goal. We look forward to seeing you on the 16th – fingers crossed for sunshine!
