A fun Fun Day! June 2017

The sun shone on Saturday 10th June for the first Bloxham Family Fun Day and it was wonderful tosee the village turn out and enjoy the afternoon.

The day started with a world record badminton attempt and despite not having enough participants to break the record lots of fun was had and a new Bloxham record was created!

You may also have noticed the church bells ringing to mark the opening of the event.
As well as other locations around the village such as the Ellen Hinde hall, Pig Pen pottery, Ex-Servicemen’s hall and the village museum the main event was at Jubilee Park.

Throughout the afternoon there was fantastic entertainment on the stage from a children’s entertainer and local musicians.

A dog show organised by Dogs for Good proved very popular.

Many village organisations had stalls promoting their activities and had created lots of imaginative and fun things for people to do. Excellent tea, coffee and cakes were provided by the WI. It was great to see whole families settling down on their picnic blankets and socialising together.

The afternoon was rounded off with a totally chaotic, but very enjoyable, tug of war. Later there was live music provided by the Elephant and Castle for those who wanted to continue with the revelries.

We would like to thank the musicians, the village organisations, the Jubilee Park committee, the Parish Council and all of our wonderful volunteers for their support.

Also thanks to the Parish Council, Tibbetts Group Ltd and Alltrades Building Ltd for their donations which helped to make the event possible.

We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. We’re already starting to think about Bloxham Family Fun Day 2018 and would welcome your feedback, good or bad, please email ange.black@hollytree05.net or phone/text 07788 716506.

See you next year!

Angela, Sarah, Mary, Rebecca, Steve, Tony and Huw (The Fun Day committee)
