We would like to start this month’s article by thanking everyone that came along to Quiz & Chips in March. A fantastic £1,000 was raised towards this year’s festival, a big thank you also to Bloxham Fish Bar for such a fantastic job in producing the 123+ portions of fish and chips for the night and all the condiments. It was certainly a well attended night…..
We are well under way now with organising Festival for 11th May. Again we have a fantastic line up of bands and entertainers for the day/evening across the three stages. Because of the popularity of this event we are urgently requiring helpers for this year’s Festival. We only require a maximum of 1-2 hours on the day and the rest is your own time to enjoy as you wish, but for safety, security and the enjoyment for others we cannot stress enough the need for more helpers. The jobs we need help with are stewarding in the 2 car parks (Bloxham Mill & Warriner School), stewarding in the three pubs stage areas, helping in the Arts Garden at the Pottery, plus others. If you think you could help then please contact either myself, Alison, or log onto our website shown below, and complete the volunteers form with your details and I will get back to you. Thank you.
Leading on from this we are having to fill a number of committee vacancies due to ‘retirements’. These posts will need to be filled at the AGM on July 15th at the Bloxham Parrish Rooms and are as follows – Secretary, Vice Chair, Publicity, Web-site co-ordinator. If you would like to receive more information on any of these posts and are interested in taking on one of these roles then please contact Sian Phillips (Chair) at sian@bloxfest.org.
If you would like to hear more about us our next meeting is on April 29th Elephant & Castle, 8.00pm. Please come along and join us: we’re a friendly bunch and we really need some new faces and ideas, otherwise we’d be boring!
Thank you for taking the time to read this and if you’d like more information on Bloxfest or our meetings then please contact me or go to our website www.bloxfest.org.uk.
Regards Alison (721055 – Answer machine only)
