Our Annual Plant Sale on Sunday 18 May
We had record takings, a really good donation to be given to The Katharine House Hospice of £153. And three bin-full’s of plastic pots were returned later in the week for next year’s plant sale. And a really special thanks to the local businesses for their generous donations towards the raffle prizes.
The Bloxham Planters
As you should of course have noticed, and been very impressed, (if not, wake up before you next drive into Bloxham from Banbury or South Newington/Milcombe: observe the 30mph signs and planters beneath them!)
They have, at both ends of Bloxham, now been cleared out, composted, re planted all by our dedicated members! A maintenance rota is taking shape/in place, more information will be forthcoming!
Our Summer Programme
The committee has decided on 2 outings only this summer:
Monday 14 July, the Primrose Garden visit, North Aston. Meeting outside the Elephant & Castle at 6pm, ETA 6.30pm. Our hosts are Richard & Daphne Preston and their highly acclaimed Primrose Garden – Don’t miss it! £4 per head for tea/coffee and cake, of which profits will go to NGS.
The second outing is a mystery visit to a garden on a date to be notified.
Our next meeting: Monday 22 September
Will be held in St Mary’s Church, Bloxham, as larger numbers than usual are expected due to the well known popularity of the speaker, Tim Walker of the Oxford Botanic Garden. His subject will be Small Gardens. To begin at 7.45pm. Non members are very welcome – £2 each. Reminders will be sent out a few days before. It promises to be an excellent event, invite your friends!
