Christmas Tree Festival Results – 4th Dec 2017

This year’s Christmas Tree Festival was the best ever, with about 1200 people visiting  which as roughly double that of the 2015 Festival. To celebrate this special weekend we have had the Spire floodlit Green which will continue throughout the Christmas period.

The Christmas trees, which were sourced by Bloxham Nursery, were decorated to a higher standard than ever, with creatively crafty decorations, and themes.

During the weekend there were seven different musical performances in Church including the Primary School and Bloxham School Choirs, Tudor Hall String Group, The Wheatsheaf Consort, Milltown Singers  Gospel Bell Collective and St Mary’s own Music group.

Children enjoyed crafting  activities and  many  went away with a beautiful home-made crown, and the delicious refreshments in the Parish Rooms were very welcome to many visitors.

The People’s vote proved very popular again with about 700 people casting their vote for their favourite tree. There was only 1 point between the 1st Choice – The Dogwalkers, and 2nd choice, The Primary School, with Broughton Castle coming a very close 3rd.

The Festival was brought to a close by a well attended service, lead by The Vicar, Dale Gingrich,  which celebrated the success of the weekend and  thanked all those who had a part in making it a wonderful Fundraiser for  The Friends of St Mary’s Bloxham.

There are still 2 x 6 foot trees to sell. Contact Mel Rayner for more info.
