Parking on pavements – Dec 2018

It has been brought to the attention of the Parish Council that there are a number of parking issues in the village.

Vehicles are being parked either on the pavement, or half on the pavement and half on the road, as well as on grass verges and grassed amenity areas, in various locations in Bloxham.

This is causing a number of issues for not only pedestrians, but also for those in wheelchairs, on scooters and those with young children in pushchairs, who have to walk in the road, which is clearly very dangerous.

Parking on the grass verge causes not only severe damage to the grass but also inhibits the grass cutting; a service paid for by the Parish Council.

There are also regular instances of parking on junctions around The Warriner School and Bloxham Primary School, which is not only dangerous, it blocks the road and causes traffic to build up too.

Therefore, the Parish Council would politely request that residents give due consideration to where they, or their contractors, park.

Vehicles should not be parked on the pavements or at junctions

The Parish Council is still working with Thames Valley Police and their officers are monitoring the village and taking enforcement action where necessary.

Thank you for your co-operation.

This is particularly bad at the Warriner School but you also have to target drivers from other villages as the catchment for the school extends further than just Bloxham.

There is an accident waiting to happen and perhaps a few more visits from TVP between 2.30 and 3.15pm might deter some of these mindless people.
