We’ve made a flying start to the new term.
In October we celebrate the Harvest, and you might notice the children walking through the village to St Mary’s church in the mornings for the special services.
Our Ofsted inspection earlier this year in March (2017) rated the school as ‘Good’, saying that the school has, “a warm, open and supportive culture that enables staff and pupils to develop confidence and succeed in their work”.
The Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) rated the school as “Outstanding”, noting: “ Bloxham is an inclusive school, with a highly developed Christian ethos, which ensures rapid progress in learning by all pupils.”
We do of course recognise and nurture spirituality and community values for children of all faiths and no faiths.
Because our school is so highly rated, parents often ask to see round the school, and we are usually oversubscribed for places, so this year we are organising our first ever Open Days to welcome visitors and give them first-hand experience of the school.
Foundation Stage
This is when children can first start at school, aged 4 and we have two classes for children aged 4 – 5.
We have three class teachers Mrs Piddington, Mr Singleton and Mrs Rose plus our higher level teaching assistant Mrs Ross and teaching assistant Mrs Batchelor for these classes which is an unusually high pupil-staff ratio in Oxfordshire, something we are able to offer because we are a well-supported school.
Open Days
Our Foundation Stage is hosting the Open Mornings where you can come and see for yourself how we are inspiring young minds with their learning. We have three Open Mornings, which are:
- Tuesday 7th November 2017 from 9:30am – 11:00am
- Wednesday 15th November 2017 from 9:30am – 11:00am
- Monday 8th January 2018 from 9:30am – 11:00am
You are welcome to just drop in that day but if you could call the office on 01295 720224 to let us know you are attending that would be helpful.
If you are unable to make the above dates for the Foundation Stage Open Morning but would like to ask about a place in Foundation or any other year group, please contact the office to make an appointment.
You can also find out more about the school in our new brochure which available as a pdf on the website www.bloxhamprimary.co.uk
