Further, we fed wheat via the hopper onto the mill<br \/>\nstones and end up with some 4 kg of flour. This was carefully sifted by hand to produce both fine and coarse grade flour. Jessica Rogers and Julia Stanley were then given the task of converting this into a marvelous selection of cakes, biscuits and bread.<br \/>\nSamples of the final produce were send to several of the individuals\/groups who have been most instrumental in supporting the project including members of the Adams family who own the mill and farm the land, Henry Warriner descendant of the Henry Warriner who built the mill, and the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB) who have advised on the restoration work, donated a large grant and successfully secured a Grade 2 listing for the mill through English Heritage. We estimate that this is the first time in over 100 years that the mill has ground corn, and we anticipate making this a regular occurrence.<br \/>\nIf you would like to visit the mill, note that it will be open on Sunday July 20th from 10 am to 1pm to coincide with the Bodicote weekend festival (no car parking at the mill, please come on foot); further, that afternoon there will be a windmill exhibition in the festival marquee on the King’s Field together with an exhibition of paintings of the mill by the Bodicote Art Group.
