It rained in May and it rained in June,

\nIt’s supposed to be summer, but look at the sky;
\nFull of black rain clouds, why, oh why?
\nThere’s a break in the clouds – a burst of sunlight And rainbow colours, so dazzling bright, Turn raindrops to diamonds, along my clothes line, They sparkle with fire; that no gem can outshine.
\nFrom red through green to a brilliant blue
\nThey flash through every spectrum hue,
\nA beautiful sight; nature’s gift and it’s free
\nThat glittering necklace is there just for me.\t_
\nSome chirping sparrows come flying along, Rain-dance on the line and the moment has gone. Such ephemeral magic! But perhaps there’s a chance Of those birds returning, to perform a sun-dance.
