Update<\/h3>\n

Whilst the wrapping paper and cards have been discarded and the decorations packed away for another year, the memories of Christmas 2007 remain very clear. For 2007 we decided to hold a Christmas Market one evening just before the end of term. It was a very successful and well supported evening, with lots of stalls, outstanding singing and of course Father Christmas arriving to the delight of children young and old. Our Friends of Bloxham Primary School did a marvellous job of organising the evening, along with staff working tirelessly all day and late into the evening. Alongside the new Christmas events we continued, of course with our traditional Christmas Carol Service at Saint Mary’s Church and nativities in school. Once again this year the children did us proud and it was a real delight to hear them singing so beautifully and acting with such apparent pleasure. Christmas in a primary school is a marvellous time – and long may it continue. We have heard recently, that we have been awarded the Activemark 2007 in recognition of the quality of the PE and school sport that is being done at our school. I am delighted that all our work in this vital area has been acknowledged by the awarding of this nationwide quality mark. This week we are preparing in school for some visitors from Germany, Rumania, Ireland and Spain who will be with us later this week. As a group of schools we are forming a partnership of schools to bridge the cultural, social and historical gap between the participating schools using the theme of protecting our environment. The work will continue for the next three years and I am sure will be beneficial to both children and staff alike.

\nWant to start and finish work early? We are seeking to appoint as soon as possible a morning caretaker for 10 hours a week from 7.30-9.30am Mon-day to Friday. The person appointed will be primarily responsible for unlocking the school and ensuring that the building and site are safe and ready for teaching and learning during the day. In addition the successful applicant will undertake site maintenance and will be responsible for additional specific health and safety procedures, to be mutually agreed. They will also be expected to undertake cleaning to cover any absence of the school cleaning staff. This post is term time only. For further information please contact .
