Water pressure, leaks and\u00a0 flooding\u00a0 are problems that have on occasion been issues for some people in Bloxham so it’s interesting to see what a recent Consumer Council for Water report<\/a>\u00a0 has to say about Thames Water.<\/p>\n

The Good:<\/strong>\u00a0 Thames Water had a 32% reduction\u00a0 in\u00a0 complaints about water supply and sewerage last year compared to the previous year so maybe things are at least heading in the right direction.
\nAlthough this still amounts to\u00a0 22,000 complaints Thames Water is one of the bigger companies and if one compares the number of written customer complaints per 10,000 connected properties then Thames is now receiving fewer complaints\u00a0 than the industry average.<\/p>\n

The Bad:<\/strong>\u00a0 The number of complaints, however is only one measure. Thames Water actually comes out as the worst company for resolving written complaints after the first written contact with the customer.\u00a0 They are also 4th worst in terms of the number of complaints about billing errors – so still no cause for complacency or resting upon laurels!<\/p>\n

Of course the best way to reduce complaints is to make sure problems don’t arise by properly planning the water supply\u00a0 and\u00a0 drainage systems on new developments from the outset. Just how proactive Thames Water and the Environment Agency are in this respect is another question!<\/p>\n
