<\/p>\nWhat a busy January we have enjoyed here at Bloxham Primary. Here are just a few highlights from the new year.<\/p>\n
We began the year, with every child in the school studying a Francophone country. Each class studied a different country, including its location on a world map, the continent it was on and any surrounding countries before thinking about things such as the people, traditional dress or famous buildings.<\/p>\n

In sport, our first Y6 athletics team did an absolutely awesome job winning the Warriner Cluster athletics event, with Y6s also participating in the swimming gala at Sibford School, from which 4 of our swimmers now have swimming trials at 4Shires Swimming Club. Our gymnastics team also participated in their first competition at Wade Gymnastics Club.<\/p>\n
A special highlight this month was the visit from the Attorney General, the RT HON Victoria Prentis KC MP. The following report has been written by Eve Warne Holland, one of our Pupil Parliament Reps.<\/p>\n
On Friday, 19th January, the RT HON Victoria Prentis KC MP visited Bloxham. She met with children in our school who are members of Pupil Parliament to discuss our ideas to enhance the school.<\/p>\n
We discussed that we need a zebra crossing or lollipop person near the entrance of our school to make it safe. We thought it would be a good idea to add a buddy bench to our playground so if a child is upset or unhappy, they can sit on the buddy bench and a friend will see them and ask to play a game or talk to them.<\/p>\n
Some Year 6 pupils gave Victoria a tour of our school. She said that she enjoyed the library very much. She was super friendly.<\/p>\n
She said she enjoyed listening to Pupil Parliament’s ideas and questions. For example, we asked her how we can become an MP? And what’s the coolest thing she’s done since becoming an MP? She said she loved supporting Hands Round the Horton campaign, to keep the hospital maternity and A&E department open. She also said she liked being able to tell the Prime Minister what to do!<\/p>\n
Mrs Prentis also came to our celebration assembly and congratulated all the pupils who were given a certificate, and she shook their hands.<\/p>\n
We had a great time with Victoria, she made it really fun and exciting! I want to become an MP one day.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
