Draft Modified Bloxham Neighbourhood Plan <\/b>\u2014 The Plan is now being progressed to\u00a0 the examination stage by Cherwell District Council. Once it has been examined, a referendum will be held.\u00a0 There are no timescales for the examination or the referendum at this time.<\/p>\n
Annual Parish Meeting <\/b>\u2014 The Bloxham Annual Parish Meeting is being held on Wednesday 22\u00a0 April 2026 at 7pm at Jubilee Hall, Bloxham. All residents are invited along to hear about the work of the\u00a0 Parish Council over the last 12 month.<\/p>\n
Hedges & Trees <\/b>\u2014 Residents are kindly reminded that they need to ensure that any hedges\/ trees\/bushes on their land, do not encroach onto the roads or footpaths. There are examples of hedges\u00a0 which are covering the footpaths and footpath users are having to move into the road, which is clearly\u00a0 very unsafe.<\/p>\n
Elections <\/b>\u2014 There are Parish Council elections on Thursday 7 May 2026. If any residents are\u00a0 interested in standing as a Councillor and would like to join our friendly team, please contact the Clerk for\u00a0 more information.<\/p>\n
Mailing List <\/b>\u2014 The Parish Council has set up a mailing list to enable residents to be regularly\u00a0 updated on issues affecting the village. If you would like to be added to the mailing list, please visit the\u00a0 Parish Council website to sign up.<\/p>\n
Traffic Calming <\/b>\u2014 The Traffic Calming Working Group is continuing to work on a number of\u00a0 projects, including the Community Speedwatch Scheme, replacement 20mph signs and various measures\u00a0 around the Primary School. More details are available on the Parish Council web site.<\/p>\n
Anti-Social Behaviour <\/b>\u2014 There have been reports of anti-social behaviour at the David Tyrrell\u00a0 Recreation Ground and also at St Mary\u2019s Church. Thames Valley Police will be requested to monitor both\u00a0 areas and carry out spot checks.<\/p>\n
Spring Clean and Litter Pick 2026 <\/b>\u2014 The Parish Council will be arranging a village litter\u00a0 pick. Please keep your eye on social media and the Council\u2019s web site for further information.<\/p>\n
Local Government Reorganisation <\/b>\u2014 The Parish Council felt that without more information\u00a0 on the reorganisation and the potential impact on Parish Councils, it is unable to submit a response\u00a0 supporting or objecting to any of the three options which have been put forward.<\/p>\n
Potential Weight Limit <\/b>\u2014 The County Council will be contacted regarding an application for a\u00a0 weight limit along Strawberry Terrace and Brickle Lane, given the very large vehicles which use these\u00a0 narrow roads. Grass verges, kerbs and parked cars are being damaged on a regular basis.<\/p>\n
Flooding <\/b>\u2014 The Working Group is continuing its work on various projects in the village and more\u00a0 information is available on the Parish Council\u2019s web site. Councillor Neil Hegarty and his team were\u00a0 thanked for all their hard work addressing the issue and working with various organisations and land\u00a0 owners to help protect residents\u2019 properties from future flooding.<\/p>\n
The Slade <\/b>\u2014 Marie Jones gave an excellent presentation to the Parish Council on the work being\u00a0 carried out at The Slade and how she is engaging the community, especially children, to become\u00a0 interested in wildlife and biodiversity. Marie was thanked for all of her efforts, which are very much\u00a0 appreciated by the Parish Council and the community.<\/p>\n
Defibrillator Training Course <\/b>\u2014 The Parish Council is funding four defib training courses at\u00a0 Jubilee Hall, Bloxham. If you would like to attend, please email clerk@bloxhamparishcouncil.gov.uk for\u00a0 more details. The first course is being held on 18 April 2026, with three more to follow. Dates are yet\u00a0 to be confirmed.<\/p>\n
