The  main one is a day trip to Belvoir Castle on Sunday 22nd June. Some  seats might be available on the coach, which leaves the Elephant and  Castle at 9am and returns to Bloxham at about 6.30pm. Anyone interested  should contact Jill Puckering or David Robson. The  other visits are to the Arts and Crafts museum at the Court Barn,  Chipping Campden on 14 June and an evening visit to Tooley&#8217;s Boatyard  on 3 July.<\/p>\n<p>Major Shaw McCloghry, a former master of the school, spoke to the April  meeting about the history of Bloxham School. He had a wealth of  documents on which to draw and a fascinating tale about the early  attempts to start a school here, the first of which failed, being  over-ambitious and too expensive. The second attempt by the Rev Philip  Egerton succeeded brilliantly, with some help and encouragement from  Lancing College and the Woodard Foundation.
