Commenting on Neighbourhood Plan – made simple

Making your Comment is Easy:
Please take 5 minutes to respond to the Final Neighbourhood Plan Consultation. Here are some suggestions of Policies you may want to support. Just Choose one or two policies that you think are particularly important, put the reasons in your own words, and email Cherwell Planning. That’s it: – job done!

Policy	Reasons it’s important to sustainability
BL1 recognises the existing permissions for major developments. BL2 recommends further developments be of a minor nature only.	Bloxham has grown hugely and this plan matches future development to evidenced estimates of attainable infrastructure capacity (e.g. schools, village pavements, drainage and traffic).
BL4 seeks improved parking capacity for all new developments.	Poor transport makes cars essential. Traffic problems will be made worse unless new developments include proper parking capacity.
BL8 encourages “adaptable downsize dwellings” on new developments.	Residents require private downsize dwellings within the village but new developments do not usually include these.
BL10 seeks more protection for the Conservation Area	Recommendations of the Conservation Area document should be strictly enforced
BL11 is about protecting the rural nature of the village.	Sustainability includes respecting the historic character – our “rural sense of place.”
BL12 seeks to protect key views such as the Church, Bloxham School and views to and from Hobb Hill	A characteristic of rural villages is more open space. Protecting those spaces and the views most important to people is the priority in preventing ‘creeping urbanisation.’
B17-19 supports improved indoor and outdoor recreation facilities.	Community cohesion is an element of sustainability. Village expansion has outpaced current recreation provision.
