Odds & Ends

60 mile walk followed by ‘Walking with Sir Ian Botham’

The 60 mile walk entailed starting at 3.00am on Saturday 23rd August, walking to Whichford, Stourton and circling the north of Banbury, through Chacombe to Greatworth , then to Clifton and home. Sixty miles in the day was my aim, but I was thwarted by my big toe rubbing and causing an infection, so consequently I gave up after 53 miles and lost my toenail into the bargain.

My walk with Sir Ian and Daly Thompson on 7th September was a little easier, although he does set quite a fast pace.

My thanks go to all who supported me, both financially and physically, taking me to the starting place! and bringing me food and water along the way! The results were, for the 60 miles £2,235 was raised for Katharine House and for Sir Ian £330 was raised for Leukaemia Research. Thanks again to everyone concerned. David Gibbard
