Websites starting with https:// send the data to your computer in a secure encrypted form that cannot be intercepted and changed in so-called “middle-man attacks.”

Because of this over the last 3 years Google and later Microsoft have been encouraging all websites to swap from addresses starting with http:// to addresses starting with https://

This is undoubtedly important for sites involving transfer of critical data – like banking information – but is really much less of an issue for sites like Bloxham Online.

However – this year the most popular browsers – provided by Google (Chrome) and Microsoft (Internet Explorer and Edge)  – have started to flash up insecure warnings for all sites without https – which is over half the sites on the web!

Unsurprisingly these warnings  makes users nervous! Consequently, despite the very low risk to users, we have undertaken to change Bloxham Online into an encrypted website. You should now see the little locked padlock sign and the ‘Not Secure warnings’ should be gone.

Because your computer caches (remembers) pages you’ve previously loaded this may not happen immediately but will probably happen if you hit the refresh button in your browser and will happen in due course anyway.
