Banbury Animal Rescue (B.A.R.K.S.) is seeking “foster carers” to look after cats and kittens.
With the kitten ‘season’ fast approaching we need someone (or more than one someone!) willing to take in a cat and its kittens for whatever period is necessary until they can be re-homed. As we will not re-home kittens until they are at least 8 weeks old and an incoming cat could just be pregnant rather than actually with kittens, this would mean a commitment of up to 4 months.
We seek someone willing to keep cat and kittens in a spare room – absolutely essential if you have a cat already – or to let them have the run of the house if not -BUT they cannot be let out.
The person involved would need to be at home for at least part of the day in order to socialise with the cat and kittens. The presence of children is a good thing and even a cat-liking dog is acceptable. You would need to have transport in order to take cat and or kittens to our vet should the need arise. Finally you would have to be willing to let prospective “Adopters” into your house to view and then take away the kittens and cat. All Adopters are “Home Visited” and approved by the organisation to ensure as far as possible that kittens and cats go to new homes where they will be wanted and properly looked after.
In exchange for this we will provide all food and litter needed; pay a mileage allowance to cover costs of any necessary journeys you do. The cat and kittens will give you considerable pleasure for the relatively brief period they are with you. If you would like further details please call us on 01295 263380 and why not also check out our website www.barks.org.uk
