Our First Friday of the month Pop Up stall with the WI and BB star Jackie D. Ex-Servicemen’s Hall, 9.30-11am. Preserves, fresh produce, plants and more!

…AND PRIMPING UP the village planters along the A361

The stone planters are looking splendid. We hope all on wheels and on foot are enjoying the late summer display. Jackie has been toiling in the mid-summer sun to keep the three planters going, watering every day during the cooler hours and will keep refining as seasons progress. HELP REQUESTED. Would any reliable person like to take charge of watering the two planters at the Ells Lane/Warriner end of Bloxham? Thank you to Stephen for taking on watering of the planter at the petrol station end of the village.

Good News to drive you Wild About Bloxham

Congratulations to Hanna and the team for securing £11k Community Environmental Grant from the National Lottery to fund 2 years’ worth of monthly sessions for the Wild About Bloxham project, in partnership with Warriner School Farm. WAB is now under the BB umbrella, and so will be an important element in our annual Great Big Green Week. Sessions are for children and/or adults, depending on theme. SEE EVENT NOTICES IN THIS ISSUE.

LOOK OUT! for news from Biodiversity Bloxham’s meeting with our local MP, Sean Woodcock on climate and nature challenges, both local and further afield. And from the People Planet Pint meet up at the Elephant & Castle pub in Bloxham. Both events took place in September. Updates in November issue.

Other news…

GODSWELL PARK garden party & fete. A damp afternoon but the fighting spirit lived on. Jackie and her team took a fantastic £400+ from teas and home-made cakes; local author Linda Newbery did well with her books and Ari Grimes took £80 from the new to you stall. Many thanks to all who helped, baked cakes, served teas, donated and came along to support us. Donations will be made to South Central Ambulance Service, Banbury Youth Homeless Project, Ukraine and Medecins sans Frontieres.
