By the time you are reading this, members will be looking back on disappointing summer in the garden. We did, however, have tw successful outings, both on fine, if not balmy, evenings. On 23rd June we visited Til House Plants, near Finmere, a hardy perennial and cottage garden plant nursery. This i a garden and nursery developed and run by a busy farmer’s wife. We ended th evening with very welcome hot drinks and home-made cakes. A month later we visited Fiveways in Shutford (a trip which had to be cancelled la; year due to the disastrous July flooding). The present owners developed this lovel garden some years ago when they bought a house in a field. Specialising in clematis this was an interesting garden and we rounded off the evening with home-made punch Everyone is welcome to attend our October meeting on the 27th at 8.00pm in the Paris Rooms, when Malcolm Brownsword will talk about The Garden Year.
