A wonderful concert at St Mary’s Church in March showcased the talents of the Bloxham Primary School pupils as their 70 strong choir raised funds towards eradicating polio.     Proceeds from the concert will help immunise more than 6500 children from this disease.

Director of Music at the school, Michelle Noble-Coles, explained how Banbury Rotary Club the previous year had visited the school to create awareness of the problem of polio world wide, and to talk about fund-raising for their End Polio Now campaign.   The children were enthusiastic to help in putting on a concert in the church, and a crowded audience were delighted to see the talents on display.   2^nd Bloxham Brownies assisted by taking donations at the door and selling crocus pins and refreshments during the interval.   Besides the choir there was a guitar group, girl band, and other genres of music.

Part of the project involved children being given crocus bulbs to grow at home, and when they bloomed, selfies were taken and shown on a projector during the concert. Congratulations to staff and pupils at Bloxham Primary for this splendid and enjoyable event.
