Bloxham primary school has become one of the leading schools in both the independent and public sector in North Oxfordshire. A fact of which, you as a resident of Bloxham, can be very proud.
However, due to this success the school is attracting many more pupils from outside Bloxham. This in turn brings more cars into Bloxham during the 8.45am and 3.00pm ‘school run’.
The school is very aware of this and has been formulating plans to help the pupils and the local community cope with the increase in traffic.
The school has 350 pupils of which there are some 185 families. 79 families live in Bloxham. 34 families live in the catchment area that provides a free bus service.
This leaves 72 families that drive their children to school.
The school travel plan has been formulated with the following in mind.

• Cars driven by families coming in from outside the area, are welcomed by the school providing that they park in accordance with the travel plan.
• Families living in Bloxham are requested to walk their children to school.
• Families living in the villages served by the school bus are requested to use the service.

The reason that we are writing to the residents of Bloxham, is that we are requesting that if you do travel past the school during the ‘school run’ please, please rethink your journey. Could you leave home five minutes earlier? Could you take a longer ( faster ) route?
To date the school has had no injuries to children. We hope to keep this record by reducing the number of cars on the ‘school run’.
