
This year the events sequence will be as follows:
- On Friday 11 November Remembrance Day a short service by the War Memorial. Gather at 10.45. No road closure.
- On Saturday 12 November Rehearsals, Marshals team at 10.30 gather outside St Mary’s. Followed at 11 a.m. for the Names readers, Scouts, Guides and Boys Brigade at the War Memorial.
- Remembrance Sunday 13 November at the War Memorial. Full road closure from 10.00 until 12.45, gathering from 10.30 for the service which will commence at 10.52. Same duration and format as last year unless the weather prevents us. In this case the same service will be in the church and lasting 20 /25 minutes. In this instance there would be no march down to the Elephant and Castle. Another document will be sent out separately for the indoors procedure for standards and wreath laying.
A church collection will be made and divided between the RBL, SSAFA and the Church.
Updated service sheets will be distributed and the wreath laying sequence will be guided by Rod Wallington over the P.A. system.
Once the service ends those on parade will march down the main road to outside the Elephant and Castle in the sequence RBL/Cadets, Boy Scouts, Girl Guides and other youth organisations with Boys Brigade behind them.
The Silent Soldier figure together with the Warriner’s ceramic poppies will be on display from 22 October until 18 November.
The Union Flag will be flown from 10 until 15 November. The King’s birthday being on Monday 14 November.
