At our last meeting we had a presentation from 2 volunteers from Dogs for Good. Unfortunately it was too hot for one of their dogs in training to be present but we were given a very good insight into the many ways the dogs are trained to help adults and children to live fulfilled lives with their disabilities.
Our annual Aunt Sally evening at the Elephant and Castle was much enjoyed even though the evening ended earlier than usual so we could go home to watch the football!
A members suggestion of a picnic was held on the Jubilee Park Field where a good number enjoyed their own food and spent a very pleasant time socialising.
Instead of our monthly meeting in August we have an outing and this year the Stourbridge Glass Museum and its surroundings is the destination.
September 9th sees us back at the monthly meeting when Hayley Scott will be talking about her career in Crime Scene Forensics.
We will be holding a Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday, 25th September in the Ex-Servicemen’s Hall and featuring Fair Trade products as part of Fair Trade Fortnight and the WI’s partnership with Fair Trade.
Visitors are always welcome to our meetings held on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 7.30pm in the Jubilee Park Hall.
