Tonight Cherwell councillors unanimously approved the Local Plan.
The Local Plan
has been several years in the making and was recently approved by the government inspector.
It’s important because Cherwell is now much less likely to be a victim of developers doing whatever they want. Unfortunately it can’t undo the decisions already made in favour of three large Bloxham developments but it does allow CDC to more easily resist future ones.

The Neighbourhood Plan
is also progressing. Yes – I know it seems to have taken forever but it’s still miles ahead of most villages (though just behind Hook Norton.)
It will be the main agenda item on the August 3rd Parish Council meeting in the Parish Rooms. We’ll add a copy to this website around the end of this week.
If they approve the Plan it will go to Cherwell District Council who have to work with us to arrange the examination and referendum – but only after yet another 6 week consultation period when everyone (residents, landowners, developers) get one final chance to have their shout!
We’ll provide updates on this website to ensure you know where things have got to.
