“This Christian Aid Week, we each have 7 days to make a difference. What will you do?”
This is a message from Christian Aid (CA) to all of us who normally receive a donation envelope through the letter box.
This year there will be no distribution of envelopes in Bloxham, so in order to raise over £1000 as we did last year we have to have an additional plan.
St Mary’s Church will be raising money through the Lent Lunches as well as other events, including the proceeds of the wall safe in church during CA Week and the collection on Sunday 11 th May. Together, united by hope, over 80 years Christian Aid has been able to offer vital, practical support to communities who are working hard to leave poverty behind for good.
As individuals or groups, we can all do something if we are passionate about the injustice for the world’s poorest people who struggle to make a living against the backcloth of the climate crisis which destroys the lives, lands and livelihoods of many communities that Christian Aid works with. This issue is now even more urgent for charities as the government cuts its own aid budget.
So, what about a coffee morning in your street? A sponsored cycle ride? A sponsored anything? Dine and donate
with a few friends? Car wash? Quiz Nights? The possibilities are endless! It doesn’t even have to be in Christian Aid Week!

If you, or your group or organisation would like to join in with this effort, official Christian Aid collecting boxes etc can be made available.
