Bloxham St Mary’s Church is rated amongst the top 100 churches in the country.
Throughout history it has been modified to suit the changing needs of the community, the last major renovation having taken place by the Victorians in the 1850s.

The Building our Future project seeks to restore it whilst also adapting it to the needs of the 21C.

As you can imagine the planning process for such a building is extremely rigorous and has several layers of permissions one of which involves the Diocesan Advisory Committee (DAC).

The good news is that last week we achieved DAC agreement to a curved screen and associated facilities. Failure to achieve this risked holding up much of the project!

This is a real milestone for the project and means that:

• we can now make the significant grant applications which were dependant on this permission being   in place
• the original vision remains intact – to deliver a scheme which is not only practical but also beautifies our magnificent church
• we are on course to deliver the project within our 3 year goal
