With regards testing:  as of 9am on 25 March 2020, a total of 97,019 people have been tested, of which 87,490 were confirmed negative and 9,529 were confirmed positive. I.e. About 10% of the tested population had the virus.

So far 3,247 of the 9,529 cases have been in London with the Midlands (1296) in second place.  Oxfordshire has had 86 cases.

Supporting the NHS by sticking to the Social Distancing Rules is the best action you can take.

Antibody testing is also planned and will tell us who has already had the virus and so developed (at least temporary) immunity.  When  both these tests are rolled out on a big scale we’ll really get some idea of just where this pandemic is going within the UK.

A new free to use WhatsApp service aims to provide official, trustworthy and timely information and advice about COVID-19 and combat the spread of misinformation. To use it simply add 07860 064422 in your phone contacts and then message the word ‘hi’ in a WhatsApp message to get started.
A set of menu options is then presented which the user can choose from and then be sent relevant guidance from GOV.UK pages as well as links to GOV.UK for further information.

Some areas are seeking to copy what’s happening in some Southern European Nations by outward displays of appreciation of all NHS and Care Staff.

E.g. This is from a group near Braintree in Essex where the virus impact  is probably running a bit ahead of here but it’s been suggested people nationwide might want to join in.
