CVD-19 Support Groups – Mar 2020

We’ve received communications from people some of whom are asking if there are any groups set up to support the vulnerable in Bloxham.
We’ve also had communications from people worried about who might support their elderley relatives in Bloxham.
We’re not aware of any groups explicitly serving this purpose but have previously mentioned a support helpline people can ring or organisations you can email.

The Parish Council could conceivably offer logistical support in terms of contacts etc but legally is not entitled to support individuals. However, Oxfordshire Community Voluntary Action (OCVA) are already set up to support groups formed and forming across the county with the aim of helping people in response to Covid-19.

They have set up a new website  called Oxfordshire All In https://www.oxfordshireallin.org/  to support groups across the county helping people in response to Covid-19. Share what is happening in your local community – FIND your most local Support Group – use their resources – Is there no public Community Support Group near you? Let us support you to set one up. Help us add you to our growing map of support across the county by completing this form.

So – the answer sems to be largely – if someone wants to form a  local support group there is at least some help out there and advice from people who may be a ‘bit further along the road.’

…. and in any case  – we all need to keep an eye on neighbours we know to be vulnerable.
