Flood Re addresses the need for more affordable insurance to those living in flood risk areas by enabling insurers to offer competitive premiums and lower excesses to high flood risk UK homes. Flood Re is set to help an estimated 350,000 households in the UK at risk of flooding and is the scheme is approved by the Prudential Regulatory Authority (PRA) and Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

Although Flood Re will not deal directly with consumers, but has recently released an animated video on their website to explain how the scheme works. The iste contains an FAQ section and lists insurers that are offering Flood Re compatible policies here.
