Hospice Open Garden Day Success
Our thanks to all those who attended the Open Gardens Day at the hospice on 31 May. The gardens looked magnificent, and supporters greatly enjoyed seeing the grounds, pond and flower borders, as well as basking in the sun on our new patio area. We are so grateful to our dedicated team of volunteer gardeners who worked so hard on the day, from running a raffle to serving the delicious afternoon teas.
Grounds and Gardens Raffle – There’s just time to get your tickets in for this fantastic hospice fundraiser, which has already raised over £20,000! All proceeds from the raffle will be used to purchase outdoor furniture for our new Day Room, garden tools and equipment, a ride-on lawn mower and a tree- planting programme. First prize, £1,000; 2nd prize, £500; 3rd prize, £100. The draw will take place on Wednesday 8 July.
Beer and Bluegrass festival – Chacombe Village Hall is the venue for this great event, from 2pm on Sunday 12 July. Entry is £10 (£5 for children) and includes entrance to Monroe’s Revenge concert, a pint of beer (or beverage or your choice) and a hot-dog. For more information about the event, please see the festival website at www.beerandbluegrass.co.uk
Bengal Spice Katharine House Curry Evening – A variety of delicious Indian cuisine will be on offer at this annual event on Monday 20 July, held at the Bengal Spice, High Street, Deddington. Two sittings will be held, at 6.30pm and 8.30pm at £10 per person, with all proceeds coming to the hospice. Please book early, to avoid disappointment, by calling Mr Choudhury on (01869) 337733.
Volunteer Drivers Needed We urgently need volunteer drivers to transport patients to and from our Day Hospice. In particular, we are keen to find drivers willing to drive our wheel-chair vehicle. If you would like to become part of a very special team please call Barbara, Administration Secretary on (01295) 811866.
Hospice E-Newsletter – We are now offering a monthly e-newsletter to local businesses. If you would like to find out more about forthcoming events, please email sarah.bidwell@khh.org.uk
