More about WW1 shells! – Aug 2021

The brief article about a WWi shell being found in Bloxham and dealt with by bomb disposal attracted much attention.

On FaceBook there were various suggestions as to how it may have got here but one suggestion from Louise Elliot was particularly interesting.

It relates to the fact there was a major WWI munitions factory just past the J11 motorway junction and that this may have been the source.

Louise also offers a link to a great little film hosted by Banbury museum about the factory.  You can watch it here.
