Tuesday 10th September saw a meeting of those who are most actively engaged in the Neighbourhood Plan Working Groups.

Geoff Botting from Woodcote (South Oxon) set out the way their village had tackled the plan and the challenges they had faced trying to arrive at the destination with very little in the way of any map!

Following the input there was a lively question and answer session and plenty of food for thought about what our next steps should be with the Bloxham Plan.

Over the past months various working groups have produced background documents setting out the existing situation within the village.

The next step involves creating a vision of what bwe would like the village to be in 15 years time.   No change is really not an option but what we can do is attempt to ensure that what change does take place is appropriate.

The Neighbourhood Plan will only have any legal standing once it is fully approved and as everyone knows there are three developments that have been refused by local councillors currently out for appeal and we will know the results of two of these next week!
What is clear is that if these developments are approved that willo only encourage others to attempt to turn the agricultural fields around Bloxham into a huge financial windfall.
The choice is to either place our trust in developers to have the best interests of the village as a priority or for us to create a Neighbourhood Plan in which residents set the agenda for change.     Tough one!!!
