Woodcote (S.Oxon) has almost finished its Neighbourhood Plan and the coordinator of this plan has agreed to come along and talk us through how they addressed the various issues.
This meeting has a strict limit on the audience size because of the venue and is aimed primarily at those Bloxham residents actively engaged in the various working groups.
There are, however, (literally) one or two places left.
If you would like to attend this meeting to find out more about the Neighbourhood Planning Process please contact John Groves tel 720513 or email here for more details and to see if places are still available.
DO NOT just turn up on the night as it is unlikely we will be able to accommodate you.
This meeting is not about the progress of the Bloxham Plan. There will be a public Meeting on this that is open to all residents probably around late October / early November.
Talk by Geoff Botting
At Bloxham Mill
On Tuesday September 10th at 7:15 pm
Geoff is coordinator of Woodcote Neighbourhood Plan. Woodcote is a village in the south of Oxfordshire not dissimilar to Bloxham in many respects.
The Woodcote Plan is nearing completion and Geoff will talk us through:
- how they set about it;
- what they found easier and harder than expected;
- how they consulted the community on key issues;
- how they managed to maintain engagement with the community;
- what support the local district council provided;
- what preparation was needed for the validation procedures;
- how much it cost;
and lots more.
The format will be as follows:
- A presentation by Geoff (probably around 30 minutes)
- Gather into working groups to formulate questions (10–15 minutes)
- Plenary Question / Answer session (around 30 minutes)
- Session ends (around 8:30)
This is a fantastic chance to listen to someone who has managed to steer a route through the neighbourhood planning process.
It won’t provide “a recipe” but it should offer some highly useful insights. Everyone is ‘inventing the process’ as they go along but here is a chance to take at least a bit of the error out of trial and error!
