Hello, I am PC Phil MORRIS and I am the Neighbourhood Specialist Officer for the Banbury Rural area.
There have been many recent thefts of Lead and Copper piping in the area due to the high scrap value of those metals. These offences are being taken very seriously by the Police. If you see any person acting suspiciously around any area where there is a large amount of lead or scrap metal I urge you to contact the Police immediately. These offences are taking place 24 hours a day and are not just confined to hours of darkness.
The number to contact the Police for anything other than an emergency is 08458 505 505.
Neighbourhood Watch is an excellent way of reducing crime in your village, areas that have Neighbourhood Watch have a much higher chance of a lower crime rate and is an excellent way for you to help keep your community safe.
Neighbourhood Watch is co-ordinated in the Banbury Rural area by Deb Tonks who is stationed at Banbury Police Station. If you require more information about Neighbourhood Watch or would like to start a Neighbourhood Watch in your street you can contact Deb on 08458 505 505.
