Hello I am PC Phil Morris Neighbourhood Specialist Officer for your village.
I work alongside PC Gerry Doyle and PCSO’s Kevin Lewis, Nikki Dale and Lana Smith. We are currently working with a Neighbourhood Action Group at solving problems identified by the community, namely Speeding, Burglary and Groups of Youths.
One of the other problems that we are suffering from at the moment is the theft of Lead from buildings. These offences appear to be happening overnight. Lead has become a very valuable commodity recently and it is a national problem, not just a problem in the Banbury area. If you have lead on any of your property you can take steps to secure it by following these steps.
- Mark your property using gloss paint, smartwater, Redweb, selectamark or a UV pen.
- Remove and/or restrict access by removing ladders or other climbing aids.
- Use anti climb paint which will coat offenders with a sticky non drying coating which means the offenders clothing can be identified by Police. Use it on window ledges, down pipes or anywhere which can be used as a climbing point. The paint is available in Tile Red, Black Green and Grey. It can be used on wood masonry and metal.
- Use PIR detector lighting where practicable
- Encourage neighbours overlooking the property to be extra vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately.
