Panic alert !!!
The Bloxham Broadsheet needs help!
This little publication has been produced for nearly 40 years, having started in l978 under the leadership and initiative of Doreen Spring, who at the age of nearly 94, still takes a great interest in its production, though failing sight now limits her active participation.
Several of the original team are still beavering away, ensuring the Broadsheet gets put together, advertising is sought, distribution is organised, and finances are in order, but at least three of them would like to take some well-deserved rest, which means that very soon we shall be in urgent need of new blood and new ideas.
We are looking for someone with computer skills to put the publication of the Broadsheet together each month. This job has been done with great skill by Brenda Kirkham, who took this over in 1996, making a very professional looking little magazine – previously it was a matter of cut and paste, which was very time consuming and required a steady hand and plenty of glue! Now she needs someone to shadow her for a few months and take over at the end of the year so she can sit back and relax.
We are always looking for people with ideas and writing skills, as well as hoping that someone would be prepared to take over the Treasurer’s work (not a major time consuming job) and assist each month with administering the many people who distribute the copies round the village.
Please do consider if you would like to join our friendly team – there is a two hour editorial meeting once a month, and we always follow this with tea and biscuits, so you will finish refreshed! Call anyone on the Editorial Committee – you will find their names and phone numbers in the Broadsheet, or email bloxbroadsheet@gmail.com.
