The Banbury Guardian online has carried an article in which parents of children at Banbury Academy bemoan the fact that academisation has brought major payouts to individuals at the Academy Trust and it’s associated  service companies  whilst simultaneously they have overseen a decline in exam results (65% to 44% in 2 years)  alongside a  reduction in provision for students with special educational needs and falling  numbers of staff to rectify the situation.
Worst of all  parents  state that repeated complaints had been routinely ignored or dismissed by  everyone from the Academy Trust to the Secretary of State for Schools.

The Bloxham Broadsheet online notes that the school has also recently sold off school playing fields for housing development – doubtless for no small sum of money – and yet the Trust recorded debts of £250,000 in the last year.
The Local community is entitled to know why certain individuals and companies associated with the Aspirations Academies Trust (AAT) seem to be reaping such large financial  rewards for what it’s hard to construe as anything but rather dismal performance! Whatever happened to accountability?
