Cherwell Planning portal contains details of a proposed new estate at the A361 – Ells Lane junction on the Banbury side.

Such opportunistic applications were pretty well inevitable given the precedent set by other relatively recent permissions that failed to respect Ells lane as a long established built-up boundary to the village. Even so the application conflicts with the Bloxham Neighbourhood Plan that was approved by 98% of those residents who voted. Additionally developments are rapidly ‘marching’ along the A361 from Banbury. Doing the same from the Bloxham end would in all probability mean Bloxham will become just another Banbury suburb. This is contrary to the Cherwell Local Plan which seeks to avoid such coalescence .
You can express your support or otherwise for the plan by submitting comments direct to the Cherwell Council site or by writing to Cherwell District Council Planning stating the reference 23/00065/OUT.

Issue is not about being a suburb – we already essentially are. Issue is traffic and the safety for the school pupils.
