The meeting about the Red Lion that was held at the Jubilee Hall today (Sunday 12th January 2014) was full to capacity with residents interested in supporting the proposed community ‘pub to hub’ proposals.
The current steering group, included not only people with experience of the brewing trade but also people with specific expertise in accountacy, law, surveying, the food industry and specifically in this sort of community engagement.
The audience were skillfully taken through what was envisaged along with a pre-emptive FAQ session. This was followed by an open question session where the support from the village became increasingly evident.
By the end of the meeting the residents were already leaving pledges of investment in the project, some for several thousand pounds. Many more took away pledge forms inviting them to purchase a minimum £250 stake in the venture.
If you were unable to attend but are keen to signal that you want a stake in the action you can download a copy of the pledge form here.
Having ascertained the high level of resident interest the steering group will now work upon a more detailed business plan which they will present to another meeting in the near future.
