Now that Mark and Sandra Page from the Joiners Arms have indicated they would like to purchase the Red Lion, the Steering Committee have decided to support their bid to turn this historic building back to the pub the village would like to see. So long as none of the current contributors object, the Committee will write to Fullers to say they would be pleased for negotiations to be started with Mark and Sandra without waiting for the designation of the building as a community asset to run out in late January.

It is not of course certain that Fullers will accept the offer from the Pages, so for the time being, those who have put funds into the Red Lion project are asked to leave their contributions in place, and the committee will continue collecting monies towards a potential purchase so that the village remains ready and able to exchange contracts and complete a purchase at a fair market price should the sale to Mark and Sandra not go through.
All share subscriptions will be returned promptly upon completion of a sale by Fullers to Mark and Sandra.
