Schools are having to adjust to providing work for students to do at home. How effectively this happens will depend upon the efficiency and facilities both at home and at school.
Lessons with a high practical content, such as design and technology, present particular challenges – and what about all that wasted technical equipment standing idle in the schools?

Well – it’s good to be able to relate that it’s not been standing idle.
Local school technology departments have been very active in helping to tackle the Personal Protective Equipment shortages locally.

Banbury Rotary Club have been phoning around local care homes and surgeries to ascertain the level of need for such equipment and feeding this information back to schools.

Bloxham School has used it’s 3D printers to manufacture medical standard Face-shields.

Warriner school used their laser-cutter to produce facemasks.

They’ve also manufactured “ear relievers” which  went to the JR to help solve the problem of masks cutting into the ears after a long shift.

The Futures Institute (part of what was once Banbury School) have also been producing PPE.

So well done to everyone who has been involved in helping us through the current pandemic.
