Government policy is to encourage development in sustainable locations.
The Neighbourhood Plan offers hard evidence that bolting ever more estates onto Bloxham without very serious investment in infrastructure (such as drainage, roads, schools recreation areas, and improved village walkways) cannot reasonably be considered sustainable.
It also seeks avoidance of cumulative urbanisation and requires developers pay more than lip-service to the importance of preserving the rural character of the village
You can click here for a summary of ALL the policies (plus links to the full documents) but some of the policies you might want to support are listed below:
- Policy BL2 seeks to avoid further large estates.
- Policy BL4 seeks proper parking capacity for all new developments
- Policy BL8 seeks more “downsize” accommodation in any new development.
- Policy BL10 seeks more protection for the Conservation Area
- Policy BL11 is about protecting the rural nature of the village.
- Policy BL12 seeks to protect valued views such as the Church, Bloxham School and Hobb Hill
The examiner will consider resident comments when judging the plan.
Your comment should look something like the content of the coloured area below. (Choose any number of policies)
