Testament of Youth

We are very fortunate in Bloxham to have so many splendid events organised by The Friends of St.Mary’s. On Sunday the 2nd of November we had a very special occasion. Entitled ‘Testament of Youth’ it was a presentation by Rohan McCul-lough in an adaptation for the stage of Vera Brittain’s autobigraphical account of the First World War. This very talented and experienced actress held us spellbound and gave a brilliant performance. As Vera Brittain she described her life with great pathos and sincerity bringing out the horrors of those dreadful years. She experienced many personal losses including her fiance and brother. The performance was especially poignant at this time as it is 90 years since the end of ‘The Great War’. The Sam Kahn Music Room at Bloxham School made the perfect venue.
