SPRING! Pop-ups – with WI on first Fridays, starts up again on 7 March, Ex Servicemen’s Hall, 9.30-11am and also some Primp-ups along A361. Now the roadworks near Warriner are finished, we will maintain anew and give our best attention to the 3 Hornton stone planters.

2024 Wrapped up

For a fourth year, our calendar of events was anchored to and organised around Great Big Green Week 2024 although ours unofficially ran until the 20th! We take a lower key but regular presence at other annual events in the Bloxham Social Calendar – as well as initiating a few of our own. In 2024… in date order…

Great Big Green Week ’24: launch day was with a mega plant sale, and held on the same Saturday as Bloxham’s Fun Day. Newly elected Leader of Cherwell Distt Council David Hingley and his colleague, Rob Pattenden were invited by BB- and turned up! Other highlights:

Local botanist and author Peter Sheasby with a well-attended talk on the simple yet wondrous beauty of the Wildflowers in St Mary’s Churchyard. It was a revelation how much ‘store’ Nature give us in even the smallest space, if we care to look.

A Film Night (Can I Live? 2021) and complimentary hot supper, and then….

Linda Newbery’s clothes swap in Barford, supported by BB, on the final Sunday was a ripping success!

Other events:

A BB Mini-Market, held alongside with a charity cake sale for Ukraine.

A stall at Godswell Park’s Summer Fete in August we took a , and raised £90+ for Banbury Young Homeless Project.

We also ran  and at our AGM, on 2 Nov, we put on a film night, the highly recommended ‘Six Inches of Soil’ and a complimentary hot supper.

Update: St Mary’s Churchyard Hedge Project is progressing; more in Feb 2025 issue as planting tookplace 24 Nov.

No Mow May We encouraged thids once more, hoping all would be taken with the beauty and life in their lawns, if the grass is allowed to grow long for these 4-6 early summer weeks, providing food and shelter for so many creatures.
