Mothers’ Union Update – Jul 2026

We had a wonderful meeting in May when we heard from staff members of BYНР (Tackling the Root Causes of Homelessness). We are now well briefed about the difficulties young people face, and about how we can be more appropriate in our donations for the Foodbank. All items are welcome, but the most needed items currently are as follows: Long life milk, Lunch box snacks (individually packaged), Tinned vegetables & fruit, Biscuits, Instant noodles. Pasta & pasta sauce, Condiments, long lasting Bottled Drinks, Coffee, Microwave rice, Toiletries, Spreads (jam, marmalade etc) Anyone can donate in the box in church underneath the table near the south door. Mothers’ Union has also offered to arrange a holiday for a family through our AFIA (Away From It All) project.

Also in May we celebrated the 90th birthday of one of our members, Susan Hinde.

Congratulations, Susan! Our July meeting on 21st July will be our outing. There will be no meeting in August, and we’re back on 15th September in the Parish Rooms at 2.30pm, when Sam Game from the charity ‘Standing in the Gap’ will be our speaker.

All welcome to that meeting. Enjoy the summer!
