Parish Council Notes – Dec 2025

Draft Modified Bloxham Neighbourhood Plan — Cherwell District Council’s  consultation period on the Draft Plan will start on Monday 8 December 2025 and end on Sunday 1  February 2026. Information will be available online and paper copies of the Plan will be available at  Adderbury Library, White Lion Café and the CDC offices in Castle Quay in Banbury.

Sean Woodcock MP — A number of actions were agreed at the meeting with Sean Woodcock MP  and the Parish Council will requesting an update on their progress.

Remembrance Sunday — A wreath was laid by the Parish Council during the village  Remembrance Day service on Sunday 9 November 2025. The Royal British Legion would like some younger  members of the community to join the Bloxham branch to ensure it can continue to function. If you are  interested, please email the Clerk for more details.

David Tyrrell Recreation Ground — Following legal advice, the next step to support the  Trustees at the Recreation Ground is for the Parish Council to help them recruit new Trustees to manage  the facility. There are a number of Trustees who have been managing the Recreation Ground for many  years and new members are needed to safeguard the future of the Recreation Ground, especially in light  of the numerous developments proposed and agreed at that side of the village. If any residents are  interested in becoming a Trustee, please contact the Clerk.

Elections — There are Parish Council elections in May 2026. If any residents are interested in  standing as a Councillor and would like to join our friendly team, please contact the Clerk for more  information.

Mailing List — The Parish Council has set up a mailing list to enable residents to be regularly  updated on issues affecting the village. If you would like to be added to the mailing list, please visit the  Parish Council website to sign up.

Parish Council Grants 2026/2027 — Parish Council Grants of over £30,000 have been  awarded to a number of organisations in the village, including the WI, Scouts, Biodiversity Bloxham and  Bloxham Bowls Club. The full list will be published in the minutes of the Parish Council meeting held on 1  December 2025. The Parish Council will be reviewing its policy for grants and community donations in  readiness for consideration of applications for 2027/2028.

Budget & Precept 2026/2027 — The Parish Council agreed its budget for 2026/2027 at  £128,002.06. The Precept was agreed at £114, 713.00 which is an increase of 5% on the Precept for  2025/2026.

Traffic Calming — The Traffic Calming Working Group is continuing to work on a number of  projects, including outstanding yellow lining in the village and traffic issues around the Primary School and  Secondary Schools. If residents drive to the Schools, please park considerately as there are many  example of dangerous parking around these areas. The Community Speedwatch Scheme is also active  around the village.

Memorial Bench — A memorial bench will be located at the end of Gascoigne Way, dedicated to  Bill Richardson who recently passed away. The Parish Council will be working with the Royal British Legion  and Bill’s family on the details.

Christmas Tree and Lights — The Christmas tree and lights were erected w/c 1 December  2025. The Parish Council hopes residents are pleased with them and we wish everyone…
