Although not based in Bloxham we do make use of the Ex-Servicemen’s Hall several times a year to hold some of our fundraising events.
Also we take in animals from the Bloxham area as well as re-homing to people living there.
It may thus be of interest to know a little more of how the money we raise from our jumble sales etc. is actually spent.
During 2007 we took in 120 cats; 134 kittens; 105 rabbits; 38 guinea pigs; 13 hamsters; 11 gerbils; 4 ferrets; 4 rats and 1 chinchilla. All of these, if unclaimed, are then put up for adoption to approved new homes.
This work does cost money. Our total expenditure in 2007 was about £32,000 with vet’s bills amounting to about £16,000 and Food & Litter about £10,000. All of this has to be raised by us as we receive no grants -just support from the public.
