Council, Odds & Ends

George Scott Darby

The Parish Council has now obtained his war record which confirms that he served in India, East Africa and Mesopotamia in the First World War becoming a Major in September 1918. He was recalled for the Second World War becoming a Captain, but was invalided out of the army and died in 1943. His son, Robert George Douglas Darby, was killed in training in the RAF at Newquay in 1941. Both were cre¬mated in Oxford. Both lived in Bloxham.
There is no photo of George Scott Darby, while there is one of his son. Does anyone know of one, or even where his relations now are? Please let the Parish Clerk know.
