Gareth Winrow:

“Elizabeth Wisdom(e): the Chipping Norton Murderess”

Gareth Winrow specialises in uncovering hidden local history.

This talk covers one such fascinating episode that arose from
researching people previously connected with Middle Way in
Summertown, North Oxford, where he now lives. Digging into
the eighteenth century life of Elizabeth Wisdom revealed a
murder, an intervention by George II, and led to a six-times great
grandson currently in Florida. Gareth’s talk is both a window on
the life and times of Elizabeth Wisdom as well as being an
absorbing detective story!
